Crappily Ever After -
Adult Panto Artwork

I was approached to create initial poster artwork for a new adult panto.

A theatre producer approached me to create artwork for their new adult panto idea. Theatre is a sector I'm passionate about, so I was excited to get stuck into something a bit different.

Sector
Theatre - Panto

Service
Poster artwork, mood board and design development.

The brief

To create poster artwork for a new adult panto. The design needed to include elements from a traditional pantomime, but in a broken, twisted way. The artwork was needed right at the start of the project to help secure funding and approach potential venues.

The story

Even though this was a smaller project, I started the same way I always do - with a conversation. We talked through what the client had in mind, and I put together a mood board to make sure I was on the right track.

The first design I produced was effective, but felt a bit too young - more 'Six' than adult panto. I reworked the artwork to include wall scribbles and a broken mirror, and we went back and forth on whether to include toilet roll in the frame. We decided against it in the end, and landed on a design that felt more fancy than rebellious.

What I delivered

I supplied final files for both print and digital sharing. The artwork fitted the brief and the client was very happy with the result.
